Very nice copy of this softcover book; light spotting to top edge of text block, o/w both interior and exterior are clean and unmarked; text is bright, with no creased or torn pages; only very minor wear. 381 pp, a few illustrations. The true story of a horrible crime that occurred in the state of Georgia on August, 1887, and the events that followed, in which all but one member of a family -- nine in all -- were murdered. Amid "rampant yellow journalism, unfounded rumors, prejudice, lies, and blatant confessions," the one surviving son was ultimately convicted. His guilt is still in question. 012790
